polyester
Polyester is the main paint of color aluminum coil, its cost is relatively low, and the performance is better. Polyester paint is mainly used indoors, and because of this, the aesthetic requirements are higher. Therefore, polyester paint unique artistic beauty, good formability and scratch resistance make it competent.
Typical properties.
◆ Polyester primer, polyester topcoat
◆ Coating thickness: 8-40 microns (depending on color and application)
◆ Good ductility
◆ Multiple color choices, high gloss
◆ Weather resistance, UV resistance is not high
Fluorocarbon (vinylidene fluoride)
Fluorocarbon is a highly stable resin that is resistant to ultraviolet rays, so it remains very stable even under prolonged solar exposure. As well as being resistant to UV rays, it also has a good corrosion resistance to many other chemicals. Its disadvantage is that the scratch resistance is not strong.
Fluorocarbon is almost entirely used for outdoor walls and curtain walls. The cost of fluorocarbon is much higher than that of polyester paint. In the early days of use, fluorocarbon and polyester may be no different, but over time, it can be found that fluorocarbon can stand the test of time and keep colorless for a long time. Therefore, it is mostly used outdoors, especially on the exterior walls of important buildings.
Fluorocarbon coatings can be divided into traditional fluorocarbon coatings and nano-fluorocarbon coatings:
The traditional KYNAR500 fluorocarbon coating, after two or three steps of oven drying, acid and alkali resistant properties, even in bad weather is very durable, can guarantee 15 years of color. Because of its nature, we recommend that you use it outdoors.
Nano-fluorocarbon coatings differ from traditional fluorocarbon coatings in varnish. The varnish of nano-fluorocarbon coatings contains nano-elements, which can protect the panel from pollution. Because of the self-cleaning ability of nano-fluorocarbon coatings, dust and dirt are easy to be washed away by rain.
Characteristics of paint
◆ Excellent weather resistance and UV protection
◆ Very good color and gloss durability
◆ Good corrosion resistance and chemical resistance
◆ Ductility Good ductility
◆ Double coating system (uniform color), including primer and top coat
◆ Coating thickness is about 25 microns
Polyurethane (polyurethane)
Polyurethane coatings are similar to polyester coatings in chemical properties, but have special advantages in some aspects. Polyurethane has high toughness, which is important for color coated aluminum rolls, and it has better scratch resistance than polyester. Slightly more expensive than normal polyester paints, polyurethane has become a popular coating choice for high-end interior products such as home appliances.
Characteristics of paint
Strong formability and temperature stability
◆ Weather resistance. Weather resistance
◆ Non-flammable, non-toxic processing
◆ Strong scratch resistance and UV resistance
◆ Exposure to air and light will not become brittle
◆ Surface double coating
Epoxy resin resin
Epoxy resin coatings used to have a very important role, but in recent years, it has no longer occupies an important position, now, epoxy resin is more used in the primer coating, used between aluminum and other coatings, so that the adhesion of the top paint is strengthened. However, due to its limited toughness, its use as a primer also slowly declined, gradually replaced by polyurethane and polyester primer.
Characteristics of paint
Excellent chemical resistance
◆ Weak flexibility
◆ Suitable for indoor use
Acrylic acid
Acrylic paint, once popular, is now used less than it used to be. Because acrylic lacks flexibility. So in Europe, many manufacturers have switched to polyester paint. Acrylic is still used on some signs and billboards, for example。
Characteristics of paint
◆ Good hardness and scratch resistance
Lack of flexibility
